Position Overview
The Civil Engineering Project Manager will oversee a talented team of designers and professionals, turning client visions into tangible outcomes. This multifaceted role encompasses client engagement, civil design, and team leadership. Responsibilities include project management, drafting engineering reports and analyses, and creating plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide array of clients and projects. The Project Manager will also mentor team members in AutoCAD Civil 3D and play a crucial role in business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in marketing and client development efforts for the division.
  • Manage various civil engineering public works and private land development projects.
  • Monitor project scope, budgets, and timelines to ensure contract fulfillment and profitability.
  • Identify design criteria and supervise efficient design and plan preparation.
  • Resolve design challenges using engineering calculations and adhering to established design standards.
  • Establish project controls to ensure accuracy and quality in deliverables.
  • Guarantee technical quality, profitability, scheduling, and effective communication with clients.
  • Lead project tracking and pursue new project opportunities.
  • Engage with clients daily, develop proposals, negotiate scopes and fees, and manage billing and change orders.
  • Supervise project staff, including design engineers and CAD operators, while mentoring junior staff in fundamental engineering practices.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of civil engineering experience.
  • At least 5 years in a Project Management capacity.
  • Current California Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience in public works project management is advantageous.
  • Background in land development is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Strong design capabilities in public works and land development, including grading, drainage, streets, sewers, storm drains, and utilities.
  • Ability to apply civil engineering principles in a service-oriented business context.
  • Expertise in preparing grading plans, utility plans, site plans, and cost estimates.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a desire for high visibility within the company.
  • Current knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is essential.
Physical Requirements
  • Attendance at client meetings at various locations as required.
  • Ability to drive to job sites.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 per year.
