Position Overview
The Civil Engineering Project Manager will oversee a dedicated team of designers and professionals, turning client visions into tangible outcomes. This multifaceted role combines client interaction, civil design, and team leadership. Responsibilities include managing projects, preparing engineering documentation, and creating detailed plans, specifications, and cost estimates for diverse clients and initiatives. The Project Manager will also play a key role in business development, fostering new client relationships and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in marketing and client engagement efforts for the division.
  • Manage a range of civil engineering projects, both public and private.
  • Monitor project scope, budgets, and timelines to ensure contractual obligations and profitability are met.
  • Identify design criteria and supervise effective design and planning processes.
  • Resolve design challenges through engineering calculations and adherence to established standards.
  • Establish project controls to guarantee precision and quality in deliverables.
  • Ensure technical excellence, profitability, schedule adherence, and effective communication with clients.
  • Lead project tracking initiatives and pursue new project opportunities.
  • Engage with clients daily, develop proposals, negotiate project scopes and fees, and manage billing and change orders.
  • Supervise project staff, including design engineers and CAD operators, while mentoring junior team members in fundamental engineering practices.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering.
  • At least 5 years in a project management capacity.
  • Possession of a current CA P.E. license is mandatory.
Preferred Education and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience in public works project management is advantageous.
  • Land development experience is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Strong design capabilities in public works and land development, including grading, drainage, streets, sewers, storm drains, and utilities.
  • Ability to apply civil engineering principles in a dynamic, service-oriented environment.
  • Expertise in creating grading plans, utility plans, site plans, and cost estimates.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a strong desire to excel in a high-visibility role.
  • Current knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is essential.
Physical Requirements
  • Attendance at client meetings at various locations as required.
  • Ability to travel to job sites.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 per year.
