Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Environmental Engineering Consultant for our operations. This role involves delivering environmental consultancy services to both public and private sector clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management and communication capabilities, as extensive interaction with clients, regulatory agencies, and team members is anticipated. A self-driven individual who can navigate projects of varying complexity and is eager to mentor and cultivate a supportive team environment is essential. This role encompasses both office and field responsibilities across various project sites.
Your Contributions
- Lead and oversee technical tasks (both in the field and office) and manage entire projects or specific project components.
- Guide a team in executing remedial engineering tasks at intricate sites, including former mining operations.
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to environmental engineering personnel and projects to ensure adherence to environmental regulations, company standards, and contractual obligations.
- Supervise engineering teams conducting field programs, subcontractors, and engineering initiatives as necessary.
- Manage the development and implementation of project scopes, timelines, and financial plans.
- Engage in business development and marketing efforts to attract new clientele for WSP.
- Draft proposals and assist in the preparation and oversight of large-scale proposals.
- Direct and mentor staff in performing calculations and oversee junior and mid-level personnel in environmental engineering and remediation tasks.
- Identify and address discrepancies in project results and collaborate with senior engineering staff to resolve issues.
- Conduct engineering reviews and provide guidance to staff on technical calculations and reports.
- Represent WSP professionally in interactions with clients, regulators, and subcontractors.
- Travel to project sites as required.
- Understand and implement company, client, and site-specific health and safety protocols.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Civil, Sanitary, Chemical, Industrial, Agricultural, or Public Health Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in environmental engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California is mandatory.
- Proven experience in the following areas:
- Strong work ethic and self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and strong computer skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and achieve collective goals.
- Willingness to work outside standard hours when necessary; fieldwork may involve adverse weather conditions or hazardous materials.
- Must successfully pass a physical examination, background check, and possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Master's Degree in Engineering.
- Experience or training in Project Management.
- 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) certification preferred.
- Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training is desirable.
- Familiarity with federal projects and CERCLA (Superfund) regulations, particularly in environmental feasibility studies and remediation processes.

Compensation:
The expected salary range for this position is $104,500 - $155,210, reflecting the company's commitment to fair compensation based on the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and geographic considerations.
