Shift Schedule: Day Shift

As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be tasked with the essential role of managing and processing specimen requests for laboratory evaluation. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Data Entry: Accurately inputting both written and electronic laboratory requests into the Laboratory Information System while ensuring compliance with specimen acceptance standards.
  • Pneumatic Tube Operation: Efficiently utilizing the Pneumatic Tube System (PTS) for specimen transport.
  • Problem Resolution: Investigating and addressing any issues or complaints related to specimen handling.
  • Specimen Processing: Carrying out the necessary procedures for laboratory specimens.
  • Training Role: Serving as a mentor and example for new Specimen Management Technicians and healthcare professional students.
  • Quality Assurance: Demonstrating a thorough understanding of quality, safety, and compliance protocols.
  • Support Activities: Performing additional area-specific support tasks as needed.

Compensation: The position offers a competitive hourly wage starting at $24.78.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Experience: No prior experience necessary.
  • Licensure: None required.

Physical Requirements:
This role involves prolonged periods of sitting and standing, frequent movement, and the ability to reach overhead. It requires repetitive motions such as data entry and effective communication skills. Attention to detail and legible writing are essential. Candidates should be capable of lifting and moving objects as needed and may encounter various environmental factors including chemicals and biological materials.
