Work Schedule: Day Shift

As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for the meticulous handling and processing of specimen requests for laboratory analysis. Your role will involve entering requests into the laboratory's computer system, transporting specimens, and utilizing your problem-solving skills effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Input and manage both written and electronic laboratory requests into the Laboratory Computer System, ensuring all specimens meet acceptance criteria.
  • Operate the Pneumatic Tube System (PTS) for efficient specimen transport.
  • Investigate, document, and resolve any issues or complaints related to specimen processing.
  • Process laboratory specimens with precision and care.
  • Act as a mentor and role model for new Specimen Management Technicians and healthcare professional students.
  • Exhibit knowledge of quality, safety, and compliance protocols.
  • Perform specific support activities tailored to the laboratory environment.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Compensation: Position Compensation Range: $24.78 Hourly

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Experience: No prior experience required
  • Licensure: None required

Physical Requirements:
This position involves prolonged periods of sitting and standing, frequent travel, and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). The role requires repetitive motion for computer data entry. Strong communicative, auditory, and visual skills are essential, along with attention to detail and legible writing. Candidates must be able to lift, push, or pull a specified weight and may be exposed to various environmental factors including fumes, chemicals, heat, cold, noise, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases.
