Work Schedule: Day Shift

As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be tasked with the critical responsibility of receiving and processing requests and specimens for laboratory analysis. Your role will involve accurately entering requests into the laboratory's computer system, transporting specimens, and utilizing your problem-solving skills to address any issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Input written and electronic orders for laboratory requests into the Laboratory Computer System, ensuring all specimens meet the necessary acceptance criteria.
  • Operate the Pneumatic Tube System (PTS) efficiently.
  • Investigate documentation and resolve any problems or complaints related to specimen management.
  • Process laboratory specimens with precision and care.
  • Act as a mentor and role model for new Specimen Management Technicians and healthcare professional students.
  • Exhibit knowledge of quality, safety, and compliance programs.
  • Perform area-specific support activities as required.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Compensation: Position Compensation Range: $24.78 Hourly

Minimum Requirements:
  • Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Experience: No prior experience necessary
  • Licensure: None required
Physical Demands:
This position requires the ability to sit and stand for extended periods, frequent travel, and overhead reaching. The role involves repetitive motions, particularly in computer data entry. Strong communication, auditory, and visual skills are essential, along with attention to detail and legible writing. Candidates must be able to lift, push, or pull items as necessary. Exposure to various environmental factors, including fumes, chemicals, heat, cold, noise, and biological materials, may occur.
