Healthcare Specimen Collection Trainee - Training Initiative

  • Conduct blood collection procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Provide exceptional service to patients while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Confirm patient identity in accordance with established policies.
  • Accurately collect and manage laboratory specimens in a timely manner.
  • Document all specimen-related information in compliance with departmental standards.
  • Assist with the processing and handling of specimens, as well as lab order entries.
  • Adhere to quality assurance protocols and safety standards.
  • Maintain a secure environment and demonstrate knowledge of safety procedures.
  • Perform administrative duties and manage supply inventory.
  • Identify opportunities for professional development and maintain required competencies.
  • Complete necessary training and in-service requirements.
  • Potential for additional responsibilities as needed.

Compensation and Qualifications

Compensation: $15.00/hour plus benefits

  • This is a full-time role requiring a total of 40 hours per week.
  • The Commonwealth of Virginia covers all training and certification expenses in exchange for a one-year full-time commitment following the training period.
  • Minimum Qualifications: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
  • No prior experience or certifications are required.
