Overview

The Senior Accountant plays a pivotal role in overseeing the company's accounting functions, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with established procedures. This position requires a strong foundation in accounting principles, coupled with practical experience in financial analysis and reporting.

Your duties will encompass the reconciliation of financial accounts, management of the general ledger, and execution of month-end closing activities, all while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency in the company's financial operations.

We seek an individual with exceptional analytical capabilities and a comprehensive understanding of accounting standards to effectively interpret financial data and forecasts. Experience in mentoring junior staff and accountants is also essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounting Procedures: Facilitate the creation and execution of accounting policies and processes. Oversee internal audits and compliance controls.
  • General Ledger Management: Ensure the accuracy of all trial balance accounts, including reconciliation and reporting.
  • Month-End Closing: Streamline and manage the month-end closing process to ensure timely reporting.
  • Cash Management: Assist in the oversight of cash flow and treasury functions.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide insights based on financial analysis regarding reserves, assets, and expenditures.
  • Internal Controls: Document and monitor internal controls to support audit processes.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate on complex accounting projects with the finance team and other departments.
  • Financial Reporting: Analyze financial data and generate comprehensive reports for executive management.
  • System Optimization: Recommend improvements to enhance the efficiency of accounting systems and procedures.
  • Consultation: Advise company personnel on accounting control practices.
  • Goal Setting: Participate in departmental goal-setting and closing processes.
  • Budget Preparation: Organize and prepare financial statements and budgets in a timely manner.
  • Tax Compliance: Support internal and external tax audits and prepare necessary tax documentation.
  • Policy Support: Assist in the development of business processes and accounting policies.
  • GAAP Compliance: Ensure all accounting practices align with GAAP standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with financial and accounting managers to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA designation is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with accounting software; experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.
  • Strong financial acumen and quantitative analysis skills.
  • Ability to manage projects independently.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Adaptable and open to new ideas and processes.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in e-commerce, 3PL, or warehouse operations is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and administrative capabilities.
  • Proven business insight and understanding of financial implications.
