Overview

The Senior Accountant will oversee and manage comprehensive accounting functions, ensuring precision in financial reporting and operational oversight. Leveraging extensive accounting expertise and a thorough understanding of financial principles, the ideal candidate will engage in intricate accounting tasks and financial evaluations.

Your duties will encompass reconciling financial discrepancies, maintaining the general ledger, executing month-end closing activities, and guaranteeing accuracy and efficiency in all accounting operations.

We seek a professional with exceptional analytical capabilities and a profound grasp of accounting standards to proficiently assess financial documents and forecasts. Experience in leading accounting teams and mentoring junior staff is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounting Procedures: Assist in the formulation and execution of accounting policies and processes. Oversee internal audits, controls, and standard operating procedures.
  • General Ledger Management: Assume responsibility for the accuracy of all trial balance accounts, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Month-End Procedures: Establish and manage processes for the month-end closing cycle.
  • Cash Management: Provide support for cash flow and treasury operations.
  • Financial Analysis: Offer insights based on evaluations of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
  • Internal Controls: Document and supervise internal controls to support the auditing team.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate on complex accounting initiatives with other finance team members or departments.
  • Financial Reporting: Analyze financial data and generate reports on the financial condition based on the findings.
  • Reporting Accuracy: Prepare timely and precise accounting reports for presentation to executives and senior management.
  • System Optimization: Propose enhancements to improve accounting systems and identify discrepancies.
  • Consultation: Advise company personnel on accounting control practices.
  • Goal Setting: Engage in departmental goal-setting and participate in month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Financial Statements: Organize the preparation of financial statements and budgets in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist in overseeing tax audits (both internal and external) and the preparation of tax returns.
  • Policy Support: Facilitate business processes and accounting policies, ensuring appropriate documentation.
  • GAAP Compliance: Ensure adherence to GAAP standards in all accounting practices.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside financial and accounting managers to enhance financial operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA designation is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proficient in PC applications, particularly Excel and MS Office.
  • Familiarity with accounting software; experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.
  • Strong financial and quantitative analysis skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously with effective project management skills.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Adaptable and open to new ideas, processes, and methodologies.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Experience in e-commerce, 3PL, or warehouse operations is beneficial.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and administrative capabilities.
  • Demonstrated business acumen with an understanding of the financial implications of decisions.
