Position Overview:

The Environmental Health & Safety Manager at Waaree Solar Americas Inc. plays a pivotal role in overseeing Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) programs and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. This position requires a blend of technical knowledge, analytical skills, and a commitment to sustainable practices. The EHS Manager will work collaboratively with various teams to enhance processes, improve safety measures, and foster innovation in our production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute a detailed Safety, Health, and Environmental strategy that aligns with the organization's objectives, fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory bodies, including OSHA, EPA, and local environmental authorities.
  • Establish and uphold occupational safety standards, creating procedures that ensure compliance and minimize workplace injuries and associated costs.
  • Manage the company's injury management program, which includes medical case oversight, return-to-work initiatives, and claims management.
  • Conduct thorough safety inspections to verify compliance with safety protocols, equipment standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Assess and authorize the use of chemicals within the organization, maintaining an up-to-date inventory and Safety Data Sheets for employee access.
  • Track and analyze injury statistics, developing strategies aimed at reducing workplace incidents.
  • Oversee the management of the OSHA 300 Log and ensure accurate annual reporting.
  • Guarantee compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Design and deliver training programs on safety and environmental topics to promote a safe working environment and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Assist legal teams with matters related to environmental, health, safety, and workers' compensation litigation.
  • Implement proactive safety initiatives and policies to avert accidents and health issues in the workplace.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Facilities teams to conduct risk assessments and audits, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response strategies for EHS-related incidents.
  • Lead the Emergency Response Team and Safety Committee, ensuring effective communication regarding safety matters.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Promote eco-friendly practices to minimize the environmental footprint of the organization.
  • Utilize advanced technology to enhance safety monitoring, reporting, and incident management.
  • Engage with various departments and external partners to ensure effective communication and training on EHS issues.
  • Stay informed about evolving regulations and industry best practices.
  • Manage incident investigations, providing guidance and support to site management.
  • Develop and oversee contractor safety programs, ensuring adherence to safe work practices.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to align objectives and drive success.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or a related engineering field is preferred.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in Health and Safety within a manufacturing context.
  • At least five years of leadership experience in safety management.
  • Proven experience with EHS management systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Environmental and Occupational Health regulations.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • ISO Certification, particularly ISO 14001, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across various levels of the organization.
