Position Overview:

In the role of Manufacturing Equipment Manager, you will be instrumental in maintaining the dependability and effectiveness of our advanced manufacturing machinery. Your primary responsibilities will encompass leading the Equipment Engineering division. You will devise creative strategies to improve overall operational efficiencies, establish maintenance protocols, and work in conjunction with various teams to optimize production workflows. This position demands a robust technical foundation, strong leadership capabilities, and a commitment to ensuring equipment reliability to achieve production objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct a team of engineers in formulating and implementing a thorough equipment strategy that ensures high-quality output, maximizes Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), meets site ramp-up requirements, enhances equipment capacity, and addresses new technological demands.
  • Initiate equipment enhancements to achieve OEE, cycle time, productivity, and quality benchmarks.
  • Oversee and guide the equipment engineering team, offering mentorship, training, and support to foster a high level of expertise and efficiency.
  • Promote a culture centered on safety, organization, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Encourage ongoing enhancements through OEE monitoring, failure analysis, and collaborative engagement.
  • Identify and resolve equipment issues through systematic root cause analysis, implementing corrective measures to reduce production disruptions.
  • Examine equipment performance metrics to detect trends and proactively mitigate potential challenges.
  • Collaborate with all operational teams through the Waaree LEAN Operations initiative, ensuring the engineering team sets the standard for Waaree facilities.
  • Recruit, lead, train, and mentor a team of equipment engineers and technicians dedicated to driving operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in equipment management within a manufacturing context, ideally in a highly automated setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of solar module manufacturing equipment and associated processes.
  • Experience in the introduction of new products, equipment, and processes in a dynamic, highly automated environment.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, demonstrating flexibility to meet stringent deadlines while maintaining a focus on quality and safety.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in managing and mentoring equipment engineers in a LEAN environment.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and adapt to evolving priorities.
