Key Responsibilities:
- Reports directly to the Operations Manager.
- Oversees the Food Defense Program to ensure compliance and safety.
- Ensures the Master Cleaning Schedule (MCS) is executed and properly documented.
- Maintains adherence to cGMP and Quality standards across the facility.
- Upholds AIB certification, aiming for a minimum score of 965.
- Ensures compliance with Sedex's social responsibility standards.
- Communicates challenges, findings, and suggestions for ongoing improvements with the Food Safety and QA Supervisor.
- Manages the approved chemical list database and monitors the chemical control program.
- Establishes and maintains the Internal Audit schedule.
- Provides training to personnel on relevant policies and procedures.
- Conducts Root Cause Analysis and formulates Corrective Action Plans.
- Actively participates in Daily Staff Meetings.
- Serves as an active member of the Safety Committee.
- Maintains certification as a First Aid Responder and completes accredited continuing education.
- Enforces adherence to the Control Plan and observes all Safety Rules.
- Assists in conducting accident and incident investigations.
- Completes tasks outlined in Corrective Action Plans.
- Utilizes Lean Manufacturing tools, including 5 Whys, Brainstorming, Fishbone diagrams, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Ensures equipment calibration is maintained.
- Conducts emergency drills.
- Follows all company rules and regulations as per the Employee Handbook.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience and Skills:
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a management capacity.
- Some college education is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with Safety Programs (OSHA, Workman's Comp) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Quality Assurance Management (RCAs, Corrective/Preventative Measures, ISO, AIB, SQF) is beneficial.
- Experience or certification in Continuous Improvement Methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
- Ability to communicate Quality and Production performance effectively to clients.
- Experience working with a temporary workforce is desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including WMS, email, MS Office, and file management.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is an advantage.
- Willingness to work flexible hours with minimal travel.
