The EHS Manager will work collaboratively with various teams to enhance operational efficiency, promote safety innovations, and implement effective improvements in our manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute a detailed Safety, Health, and Environmental strategy that aligns with the company’s vision, fostering a culture centered on safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Guarantee compliance with relevant regulatory bodies including OSHA, EPA, and local environmental authorities.
  • Establish and uphold occupational safety and health standards, implementing procedures that ensure compliance and minimize workplace injuries and associated costs.
  • Manage the injury management system, which includes overseeing medical case management and maintaining records related to workplace incidents.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of the workplace to verify compliance with safety protocols, including personal protective equipment and environmental regulations.
  • Assess and authorize the use of chemicals within the organization, maintaining an updated inventory and Safety Data Sheets accessible to all employees.
  • Analyze injury data to identify trends and develop strategies aimed at reducing workplace accidents.
  • Oversee the management of the OSHA 300 Log and ensure the annual summary is accurately completed.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations and certifications.
  • Design and deliver training programs on safety and environmental health topics to enhance employee awareness and fulfill regulatory obligations.
  • Assist legal teams with matters related to environmental, health, safety, and workers' compensation litigation.
  • Implement proactive safety initiatives and policies to mitigate risks of accidents and occupational illnesses.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing and Engineering, to conduct risk assessments and audits, providing solutions to identified hazards.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans for EHS-related incidents.
  • Lead the Emergency Response Team and Safety Committee, ensuring effective communication regarding safety matters.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Promote eco-friendly practices to minimize the environmental footprint of the organization.
  • Utilize advanced technology to improve safety monitoring, reporting, and incident management.
  • Engage with various departments and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and training on health, safety, and environmental issues.
  • Stay informed on evolving regulations and industry best practices.
  • Manage the incident investigation process, providing guidance and support to site management.
  • Develop and oversee contractor safety programs, ensuring compliance with safe work practices.
  • Work effectively with diverse teams to align objectives and drive safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in Health and Safety within a manufacturing context.
  • At least five years of leadership experience in safety management.
  • Proven experience with EHS management systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of Environmental and Occupational Health regulations.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently and solve problems.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • ISO Certification, particularly ISO 14001, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
