Position Overview:

The Automation Equipment Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the setup, upkeep, and functionality of automated assembly line machinery. This position involves collaboration on project management tasks associated with the installation and commissioning of manufacturing systems, with an emphasis on optimizing equipment performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in overseeing the design, planning, installation, and commissioning of module equipment and systems.
  • Support the diagnosis and resolution of operational challenges related to machinery, motors, robotics, controls, and PLC systems under guidance.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for equipment malfunctions, downtime, and material-related issues.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of enhancements for equipment.
  • Help manage projects and documentation to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
  • Assist in developing capital expenditure (CAPEX) project roadmaps for module equipment.
  • Support the coordination of external contractors for project execution.
  • Assist in monitoring and enhancing assembly equipment performance metrics.
  • Engage in the implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Support LEAN operations initiatives aimed at resolving equipment-related problems.
  • Assist in sourcing spare parts necessary for equipment maintenance.
  • Contribute to maintaining safe working practices for equipment and work areas.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized work environment following 5S principles.
  • Support training initiatives on technical standards and procedures for maintenance.
  • Provide assistance for equipment operation, including emergency support as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity within a manufacturing or high-volume automation sector.
  • Familiarity with the management of automated manufacturing assembly line installations is advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of factory automation, robotics, and servo-controlled systems.
  • Exposure to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) is beneficial.
  • Technical understanding of engineering principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including robots, PLCs, motors, drives, and vision systems.
  • Awareness of regulatory, environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and procedural documents.
  • Organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with LEAN methodology concepts is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English language skills.
  • Physical capability to work in both office and manufacturing settings, including extended periods of standing and walking.
