Quality Assurance and Safety Operations Manager

The Quality Assurance and Safety Operations Manager is accountable for overseeing the daily functions of the facility, focusing on Safety, Quality, and Production. This role reports directly to the General Manager and supervises a team of up to five individuals, managing a workforce of 125 employees within a large repackaging operation.

Compensation: $70K-$75K per year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize Safety, Quality, and Production in all operations.
  • Lead the Safety and Quality Programs effectively.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to ensure comprehensive inventory control, Quality Management, and Maintenance Management.
  • Recruit, supervise, and evaluate management personnel to meet performance objectives.
  • Direct and manage both full-time and temporary staff.
  • Serve as the primary contact for a single customer, relaying Quality and Production metrics.
  • Ensure the facility operates within budgetary constraints and manage resources to optimize profitability.
  • Establish and enforce temporary staffing protocols to manage labor costs.
  • Communicate and uphold company policies.
  • Conduct performance reviews and mentor associates for professional advancement.

Qualifications:

Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience and Skills:

  • 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing setting in a managerial capacity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some college education is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Safety Programs (OSHA, Workman's Comp).
  • Experience in Quality Assurance Management (RCAs, Corrective/Preventative Measures, ISO, AIB, SQF).
  • Knowledge or certification in Continuous Improvement Methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Experience in communicating Quality and Production performance to clients.
  • Experience managing a temporary workforce.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications including WMS, email, MS Office, and file management.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Able to work flexible hours with minimal travel.
