Position: Director of Student Engagement and Well-Being

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead programs aimed at enhancing student achievement by fostering a positive, secure, and inclusive educational atmosphere.
  • Design and oversee restorative practices and initiatives to enhance the educational environment and safety.
  • Provide crisis intervention, implement behavioral frameworks, and collaborate with school leadership teams.
  • Build and maintain relationships with students, families, and educational staff.

Climate and Culture System Management:

  • Refine systems to encourage a supportive school community and promote students' social-emotional development.
  • Monitor behavioral incidents and create strategies to minimize referrals for support.
  • Ensure students receive necessary social and emotional assistance.
  • Facilitate disciplinary hearings and foster partnerships to improve school climate.

Direct Support Services:

  • Plan and lead groups aimed at developing pro-social skills among students.
  • Provide crisis support to students and work collaboratively with families.
  • Conduct restorative sessions to resolve conflicts.

Operational Oversight:

  • Manage school operations to maintain a positive climate, including student supervision and data management.
  • Ensure efficient functioning of arrival, dismissal, meals, and transportation.
  • Maintain effective communication with families and uphold attendance policies.

Family Engagement:

  • Build trust with families and promote partnerships between home and school.
  • Enhance communication with families and foster a culture of engagement.
  • Support structures and events that encourage family involvement.

Qualifications - Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and experience in educational leadership.
  • Experience in urban education with diverse student populations.
  • Knowledge of restorative practices and behavior management techniques.
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.

Qualifications - Preferred:

  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or a Master's Degree in a related field.
  • Training in restorative practices.

Terms: Managerial Tier C
