Citywide Hub Schools Coordinator:

In collaboration with the Boston Teachers Union and Boston Public Schools, the Citywide Hub Schools Coordinator will partner with city and district officials, leading organizations, intermediaries, and community stakeholders to refine and enhance the Boston Community Hub Schools initiative. This position is essential in implementing a cohesive system of support services and opportunities for students and their families. The Coordinator will ensure that the strategy is informed by the insights and experiences of students, families, community partners, and educators. A proactive individual is required, capable of navigating various systems to achieve positive outcomes for youth and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate professional development sessions related to the Hub Schools initiative
  • Contribute to the establishment of infrastructure for community school transformation
  • Promote educational advocacy efforts
  • Document and share best practices
  • Organize community engagement events and training sessions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance understanding and support
  • Develop communication channels for Hub Schools activities
  • Represent the Hub Schools initiative in public discussions
  • Identify and foster strategic partnerships aligned with the Hub Schools mission
  • Assist in grant writing to fund initiatives
  • Review relevant budgets, grants, and stipends
  • Provide training and support to school-based coordinators
  • Assist school-based coordinators in executing the Hub Schools strategy
  • Organize professional development opportunities for staff
  • Collect and analyze data to monitor progress and guide decisions
  • Encourage transparency and accountability in data management
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the Boston Community Hub School strategy
  • Support overarching initiative goals and metrics
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, public administration, social work, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Spanish is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication abilities
  • Experience in collaboration, problem-solving, and team dynamics
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, along with organizational skills
  • Familiarity with Boston Public Schools and community-based organizations
  • Teaching experience in urban public school settings

Terms of Employment:

Citywide coordinators will adhere to the salary schedule established by the Boston Teachers Union. The role entails working 8 hours per school day for a total of 223 days annually, encompassing the standard school days and additional days scheduled in collaboration with the supervisor.
