In collaboration with the Boston Teachers Union and Boston Public Schools, the Citywide Coordinator for Community Hub Schools will engage with municipal and district leaders, key agencies, intermediaries, and community stakeholders to refine and enhance the Boston Community Hub Schools initiative. This position is pivotal in executing a cohesive framework of support services and opportunities tailored for students and their families. The Citywide Coordinator is essential in ensuring that the initiative incorporates the insights and experiences of students, families, community stakeholders, and educators. This role demands a proactive individual capable of navigating diverse systems to foster success for youth and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate professional development sessions focused on the Hub Schools initiative
- Contribute to the establishment of infrastructure for community school transformation
- Promote educational advocacy efforts
- Document and share best practices
- Organize community engagement activities and training sessions
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance knowledge and support
- Develop communication strategies related to Hub Schools initiatives
- Represent the Hub Schools initiative in public discussions
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships aligned with the Hub Schools vision
- Assist in grant writing to support the initiative
- Review relevant budgets, grants, and stipends
- Provide training and support to school-based coordinators
- Assist school-based coordinators in executing the Hub Schools initiative
- Organize professional development opportunities for staff
- Collect and analyze data to monitor progress and guide decision-making
- Encourage transparency and accountability in data management
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the Boston Community Hub Schools initiative
- Support overarching initiative goals and metrics
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, public administration, social work, or a related discipline
- Proficiency in Spanish is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication abilities
- Experience in collaboration, problem-solving, and team dynamics
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a team environment
- Exceptional written, verbal communication, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with Boston Public Schools and community-based organizations
- Teaching experience in urban public school settings
Terms of Employment:
Citywide coordinators will adhere to the salary schedule established by the Boston Teachers Union. They will work 8 hours each school day for a total of 223 days annually, which encompasses the standard school days and additional days scheduled collaboratively with their supervisor.
