Position Overview: As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Registered Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for delivering high-quality respiratory care to patients with various respiratory conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory needs and implement appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care in accordance with professional standards and departmental protocols.
  • Effectively communicate patient responses to therapy and suggest modifications to care plans as necessary.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and demonstrate a commitment to understanding processes, data, and outcomes.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through education, certification, and participation in relevant organizations.
  • Utilize innovative technologies to enhance patient care and actively engage in the application of evidence-based practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the department's objectives.

Compensation: The hourly compensation for this position is $48.21.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Candidates must have graduated from an accredited respiratory therapy program, with an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy as a minimum requirement; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 12 months of clinical experience in acute or critical care respiratory therapy is required.

Licensure/Certification: An active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) is mandatory. Candidates must also hold a valid license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in Virginia and possess American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification. Additional specialty credentials must be obtained within specified timeframes.

Physical Requirements: The role necessitates prolonged periods of standing, frequent travel, and bending. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lift and maneuver patients as needed.
