About the Internal Traveler Program
The Internal Traveler Program offers healthcare professionals the chance to discover diverse opportunities within the Commonwealth of Virginia's healthcare system. Key features of the program include:
  • Competitive compensation comparable to other traveler roles,
  • Diverse clinical practice opportunities across various specialties,
  • Assignments structured in 13-week blocks, with the possibility of renewal for up to 39 weeks.
  • A $2,500 Incentive Bonus for the initial 13-week assignment.
Position Overview
We are currently seeking skilled Respiratory Therapists for the Internal Traveler Program. Ideal candidates will possess a solid foundation in clinical knowledge, assessment, and therapeutic skills relevant to respiratory conditions.

Compensation Range: Hourly

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 12 months of clinical experience in acute or critical care respiratory therapy.
  • Licensure: Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required. Candidates must obtain licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in Virginia within 90 days of hire. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification is mandatory. Preferred: Active NBRC Specialty Credential (e.g., RRT-ACCS, RRT-NPS).
Physical Requirements
This role involves prolonged periods of standing, frequent bending, and the ability to lift, push, or pull over 100 lbs. Candidates should possess strong communicative, auditory, and visual skills, along with meticulous attention to detail. Exposure to various environmental factors, including chemicals and infectious diseases, may occur.
