We are seeking a proficient clinician with extensive expertise in assessment and therapeutic interventions for respiratory ailments, consistently demonstrating high-level performance.
Utilizing a foundation of evidence-based practices, you will manage patient care and execute treatment strategies in collaboration with patients, their families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess respiratory care requirements and apply diagnostic evaluations and therapeutic strategies with precision.
- Document patient care in accordance with professional standards and departmental protocols.
- Effectively communicate patient responses to respiratory therapy interventions and suggest necessary adjustments to the care plan.
- Exhibit a commitment to quality through understanding processes, data, and outcomes; engage in performance improvement initiatives; and adhere to established procedures and documentation standards.
- Mentor new learners and students in the field.
- Innovatively apply technologies that enhance patient care; actively participate in the implementation of evidence-based practices and new knowledge derived from respiratory research.
• Minimum of an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Experience: 3 years of full-time acute/critical care Respiratory Therapy experience if baccalaureate prepared, or 5 years if associate prepared.
• Must hold an active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and be licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification is required. Additional certifications such as RRT-ACCS and RRT-NPS are required for Medical Center Respiratory Therapists; ACLS certification is required for TCH Respiratory Therapists.
Physical Requirements:The role involves prolonged standing, frequent travel, and bending/stooping. Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills are essential. Exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases may occur.
