Position Overview:

This position plays a vital role in supporting the Medical Billing and Coding curriculum within the Continuing Education and Workforce Development sector. The instructor is responsible for guiding learners in preparation for the AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Professional Biller (CPB) certification through both in-person and online teaching methodologies. Instructors evaluate student performance using diverse assessment techniques to ensure alignment with educational goals and competency development.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary duties include:

- Delivering structured educational sessions that fulfill the learning objectives set forth in the AAPC curriculum
- Facilitating student engagement with the AAPC course materials through both classroom and digital platforms
- Maintaining open lines of communication via electronic means to support student inquiries regarding course content
- Evaluating student achievements and providing constructive feedback
- Preparing students for AAPC Certification assessments
- Fostering professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the broader community
- Committing to ongoing professional development to remain updated in the field

Minimum Required Qualifications:

1. At least 5 years of experience in medical billing and coding or instructional roles
2. Possession of CPB (for medical billing instruction) and CPC and CPC-I certifications (for medical coding instruction)

Preferred Qualifications:

1. An associate degree or higher
2. Previous experience in teaching (either in a classroom or corporate training setting)
3. Familiarity with Blackboard LMS and presentation software
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
5. Ability to connect with a diverse student population
