Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Support Professional to join our team at Frederick Foot and Ankle Specialists, P.C. As a Medical Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care
    • Assist healthcare providers with coordinating patient care and act as a liaison between patients, providers, and other staff.
    • Control patient flow for assigned providers and effectively communicate with peers, providers, and supervisors.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Comply with OSHA and HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patients and operations.
    • Follow all protocol guidelines and obtain chief complaint, accurate vitals, and key into EMR accordingly.
  • Clinical Support
    • Assist with casting, measuring for DME, taking x-rays, and vitals.
    • Prepare surgery instrument packets and trays, clean, lube instruments, and prep packets for autoclave.
  • Communication
    • Prioritize patient communications according to medical need and urgency.
    • Prepare referrals for outside therapies (PT, wound care, etc.) and educate patients on DME/store items.
  • General Duties
    • Responsible for cleaning and stocking patient exam rooms daily and opening and closing duties as assigned.
    • Assist with patient care in other areas as needed and arrive to work prepared as scheduled.
Requirements
  • Clinical experience preferred.
  • Varied activities including, but not limited to, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and stooping. This requires full range of body motion for handling patients, hand-eye coordination, and finger dexterity. Able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
