Position Overview:

The Student Finance Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the Student Finance Office and the Finance team’s operations. This position serves as the primary liaison for students, parents, and staff regarding tuition and fee-related inquiries for academic enrollment.

Key Responsibilities:
The following duties are essential for this role:
1. Deliver exceptional customer service in a dynamic environment, assisting students with payment options and deadlines.
2. Guide students in establishing refund preferences and payment plans, as well as applying applicable discounts.
3. Accurately process all payment types for students, organizations, and internal departments.
4. Analyze various student accounts, including financial aid, scholarships, and payment plans.
5. Ensure accurate charges and accounting codes while verifying cash and check totals.
6. Reconcile daily payment transactions and prepare bank deposits.
7. Manage petty cash disbursements and ensure proper documentation.
8. Handle third-party tuition deferrals and prepare timely invoices while reconciling accounts monthly.
9. Assist in processing financial aid and refund requests.
10. Engage in collection efforts for overdue accounts assigned to third parties.
11. Prepare and reconcile state reporting for necessary filings.
12. Support the review of tax reporting documents.
13. Maintain organized records by scanning and linking required documents into the system.
14. Generate billing statements and assess late fees for specific services.
15. Reconcile monthly accounting schedules.
16. Record daily revenue from auxiliary services into the financial system.
17. Adhere to privacy regulations concerning student financial information.
18. Conduct data analysis and assist with reporting to support Finance team objectives.
19. Update financial system information for new terms.
20. Reconcile payments related to retiree and COBRA accounts while assisting Human Resources with billing.
21. Collaborate with internal departments to enhance student support and navigation on campus.
22. Perform additional duties as assigned.Qualifications:

Required:
1. Associate Degree
2. One year of experience in a financial or accounting role.
3. Two years of experience in a customer service capacity.

Preferred:
1. Coursework in accounting or finance.
2. Experience in analyzing and reconciling financial transactions.
3. Proven accuracy and attention to detail.
4. Familiarity with ERP systems and report generation.
5. Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
6. Strong communication skills.
7. Experience in cash handling.

Work Schedule:

Full-time position with standard business hours.

Remote Work:

Eligible for telework.
