Position Overview:

Job Title: Senior Release Manager

Employment Type: Full Time

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee code management, release process management, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
  • Facilitate ongoing process enhancements and support software development and QA teams.
  • Implement best practices and collaborate with Engineering leadership to promote release management methodologies and foster a creative and cooperative work environment.
  • Establish and staff the release engineering team as planned.
  • Communicate release specifics and timelines to relevant stakeholders as necessary.
  • Coordinate release content and efforts based on service request backlogs, pending requests, third-party applications, or system updates.
  • Collaborate with Development and QA teams to refine the CI/CD pipeline and its integration with code repositories, unit tests, integration and functional tests, static code analysis, SAST and DAST, build automation, container packaging, and automated deployment of applications across various environments.
  • Perform responsibilities independently.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • 5+ years of previous experience in release and/or project management
  • Solid understanding of project management principles is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in team and people management with groups of at least 5 engineers
  • Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  • Experience with Git, Azure, Jenkins, or other CI/CD tools
  • Proficient in producing deployment documentation, run books, and implementation plans
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills are essential
  • Ensure effective code management, release process management, continuous integration, and continuous deployment
  • Support continuous process improvements and empower software development and QA teams
  • Promote best practices and collaborate with Engineering leadership to enhance release management methodologies and cultivate a creative and collaborative work environment

Compensation:

  • The salary for this position ranges from $110,000 to $125,000 annually.
  • Factors influencing pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
