Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee code management, release process management, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
  • Facilitate ongoing process enhancements and support software development and QA teams.
  • Implement best practices and collaborate with Engineering leadership to promote release management standards and foster a creative, cooperative work environment.
  • Establish and develop the release engineering team according to the staffing plan.
  • Communicate release details and timelines to relevant stakeholders as necessary.
  • Coordinate release content and efforts based on service request backlogs, pending requests, third-party applications, or system updates.
  • Collaborate with Development and QA teams to enhance the CI/CD pipeline and its integration with code repositories, unit tests, integration and functional tests, static code analysis, SAST and DAST, build automation, container packaging, and automated deployment across various environments.
  • Work autonomously.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • 5+ years of prior experience in release and/or project management
  • Strong understanding of project management principles is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in team and personnel management with teams of at least 5 engineers
  • Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  • Experience with Git, Azure, Jenkins, or other CI/CD tools
  • Proficient in producing deployment documentation, run books, and implementation plans
  • Exceptional written, verbal communication, and presentation skills are essential
  • Ensure effective code management, release process management, continuous integration, and continuous deployment
  • Support continuous process improvements and enable software development and QA teams
  • Implement best practices and collaborate with Engineering leadership to promote release management standards and foster a creative, cooperative work environment
  • Establish and develop the release engineering team according to the staffing plan
  • Communicate release details and timelines to relevant stakeholders as necessary
  • Coordinate release content and efforts based on service request backlogs, pending requests, third-party applications, or system updates

Compensation:

  • The salary for this position ranges from $110,000 to $125,000 annually.
  • Factors influencing pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
