Position Overview:

The Senior Benefits Analyst plays a crucial role in managing a comprehensive employee Health and Welfare benefits program tailored to meet the diverse needs of employees while aligning with the strategic goals of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:


1. Oversee the administration of various employee benefits, including health insurance, life insurance, COBRA, EAP, and voluntary plans across all company entities. This includes:
- Identifying and resolving issues
- Maintaining precise records
- Ensuring accurate deductions
- Reconciling invoices
- Generating audit reports to identify discrepancies.

2. Coordinate annual initiatives such as Total Compensation Statements, census reporting, and audits. Respond to data inquiries from actuaries, insurance providers, and management. Assist with annual nondiscrimination testing and the 401k audit, while coordinating and distributing required annual reports.

3. Facilitate the planning and execution of the annual open enrollment process, including the creation of employee communications and updates to the HRIS system with new rates and benefits as necessary.

4. Manage enhancements to the benefits administration system, troubleshoot interface file issues, and resolve discrepancies.

5. Supervise retirement savings plans and pension administration for all company entities, collaborating with the pension administration vendor to ensure timely and accurate processing of participant payments.

6. Maintain comprehensive benefits and HIPAA records, including enrollments, applications, and other necessary documentation for all benefit plans.

7. Oversee the ACA compliance process, auditing Forms 1094 and 1095 for all covered entities to ensure adherence to IRS deadlines for distribution and filing.

8. Serve as the escalation point for complex benefit plan issues and assist in managing leave programs.

9. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to benefits administration.

10. Perform additional related duties or projects as assigned.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of employer benefit programs and processes.
- Proficient knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing benefits, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, Section 125, COBRA, ADA, FMLA, and FLSA.
- Ability to evaluate and enhance performance at both individual and organizational levels.
- Effective interpersonal skills to manage diverse situations and relationships.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Self-motivated with minimal supervision required.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with employees, organizations, brokers, and vendors.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Experience in developing and delivering training and education to various employee levels.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly advanced Excel skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CCP, CEBS are advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration is required.
