Position Overview:

The Senior Benefits Analyst is tasked with overseeing a comprehensive multi-state employee Health and Welfare benefits program designed to meet the diverse needs of employees while aligning with the organization's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:


1. Manage the administration of various employee benefits including health insurance, life insurance, COBRA, EAP, and voluntary plans across all entities within the company's control group. This includes:
- Identifying and resolving issues
- Maintaining accurate records
- Ensuring correct deductions are applied
- Reconciling invoices
- Generating audit reports to identify discrepancies.

2. Coordinate annual projects such as Total Compensation Statements, census reporting, and audits. Respond to data requests from actuaries, insurance carriers, and management, and assist with annual nondiscrimination testing and 401k audits.

3. Facilitate the planning and execution of the annual open enrollment process, including creating employee communications and updating the HRIS system with new rates and benefits as necessary.

4. Oversee retirement savings plans and pension administration for all entities, partnering with the pension administration vendor to ensure timely and accurate processing of participant payments.

5. Maintain benefits and HIPAA records, including enrollments and applications required for all benefit plans.

6. Manage the ACA compliance process, auditing Forms 1094 and 1095 for all covered entities to ensure timely distribution and filing with the IRS.

7. Serve as an escalation point for complex benefit plan issues and assist in managing leave programs.

8. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to benefits administration.

9. Perform miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth understanding of employer benefit programs and processes.
- Familiarity with laws and regulations governing benefits, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, Section 125, COBRA, ADA, FMLA, and FLSA.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly advanced Excel skills.
- Strong relationship-building skills with employees, brokers, and vendors.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion regarding sensitive information.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CCP, CEBS are preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration is required.
