Position Overview:

The Senior Benefits Analyst plays a pivotal role in managing a comprehensive employee Health and Welfare benefits program tailored to meet the diverse needs of employees while aligning with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:


1. Oversee the administration of various health insurance plans, life insurance, COBRA, EAP, and voluntary benefits across all entities within the Company's control group. This includes:
- Identifying and resolving issues
- Maintaining accurate records
- Ensuring proper deductions are applied
- Reconciling invoices
- Running audit reports to identify discrepancies.

2. Coordinate annual projects such as Total Compensation Statements, census reporting, and audits. Respond to data requests from actuaries, insurance carriers, and management. Assist with annual nondiscrimination testing and 401k audits, and manage the distribution of required reports.

3. Facilitate the planning and execution of the annual open enrollment process, including:
- Creating employee communications
- Reviewing and updating the HRIS system with new rates and benefits as necessary.

4. Support enhancements to the benefits administration system, addressing interface file issues and troubleshooting discrepancies.

5. Manage retirement savings plans and pension for all entities, collaborating with the pension administration vendor to ensure timely and accurate processing of participant payments.

6. Maintain comprehensive benefits and HIPAA records, including enrollments, applications, and other necessary documentation for all benefit plans.

7. Oversee the ACA compliance process, auditing Forms 1094 and 1095 for all covered entities to ensure adherence to IRS deadlines for distribution and filing.

8. Serve as an escalation point for complex benefit plan issues and assist in managing leave programs.

9. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to benefits administration.

10. Perform miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comprehensive understanding of employer benefit programs and processes.
- Familiarity with laws and regulations governing benefits, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, Section 125, COBRA, ADA, FMLA, and FLSA.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly advanced Excel skills.
- Capacity to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion regarding sensitive information.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CCP, CEBS are preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration is required.
