We are in search of a dedicated and proficient full-time Senior Hair Care Specialist to enhance our team and provide outstanding cosmetology services to our residents. The Senior Hair Care Specialist will be pivotal in delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring residents' needs are met, and exceeding their expectations. Responsibilities include adhering to salon health and safety protocols, identifying opportunities for revenue enhancement, and managing salon inventory and equipment effectively. Ideal candidates will possess experience in senior living environments and a genuine passion for serving the elderly population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exemplary customer service to residents, addressing their needs and concerns with professionalism and promptness.
  • Assist in the smooth operation of the salon, including appointment scheduling, inventory management, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with team members, providing motivation and support while adhering to all salon policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with supervisors and staff to ensure seamless operations and superior service delivery, maintaining open communication regarding salon activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including infection control and sanitation practices. Conduct regular salon inspections and report any issues to management.
  • Propose innovative ideas to enhance salon revenue, such as introducing new services or loyalty programs.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of salon equipment, coordinating regular service checks and managing inventory of necessary supplies.
  • Stay updated on relevant regulations and certifications in the salon industry, ensuring all operations comply with legal requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., cosmetology, business administration) is preferred.
  • Current cosmetology license or certification recognized by the VA Board of Barbers and Cosmetology.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a salon or customer service role, with a preference for experience working with elderly and dementia populations.
  • Valid Virginia Driver's License and liability insurance for occasional administrative duties.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to follow instructions and engage with residents compassionately.
  • Demonstrated integrity and confidentiality in handling residents' personal information.
  • Exemplary organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in salon management software and relevant computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
