About the Role

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Structural Designer to join our team. As a Structural Designer, you will play a crucial role in designing state-of-the-art facilities for various industries, including industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, real estate, solid waste, power, and public sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Coordination: Collaborate with structural engineers to design buildings, building foundations, equipment foundations, masonry structures, and miscellaneous concrete and steel structures.
  • Problem-Solving: Evaluate and resolve problems by reviewing multiple sources of information and coordinating design criteria with other disciplines.
  • Material Take-Offs: Develop structural material take-offs to ensure accurate estimates and project planning.
  • Quality Oversight: Provide quality oversight for structural designs performed by others to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for the structural discipline when meeting with project managers, other discipline leads, and clients.
  • Training and Mentorship: Train and mentor less experienced designers to ensure knowledge transfer and skill development.
  • Estimation: Generate structural hour estimates to complete ongoing work and for new proposals.
Requirements
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience working on commercial and heavy industrial/manufacturing projects.
  • Software Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in using Revit and AutoCAD, with a strong understanding of Microsoft Suite, including MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with engineers, senior designers, and clients.
  • Travel: Ability to travel more than 10% of the time for project-related activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Software Skills: Working knowledge of Navisworks and Bluebeam.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of structural engineering codes and standards.
