Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant/Administrative Assistant II to join our team at Family Health Centers of San Diego. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and administrative support to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend in-services and complete make-up assignments to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure sites are in compliance with TJC, DHS, CHDP, and Medi-Cal Managed Care Requirements.
  • Perform Waive Testing and Phlebotomy, and consistently follow FHCSD Policies and Procedures to ensure positive patient outcomes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinic environment, and prepare patients for examinations and procedures as needed.
  • Support provider productivity, manage clinic flow, and communicate referral information and discharge instructions to patients.
  • Respond to voicemails, route messages, and return phone calls in a timely manner, and record patient information in Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Administer medications, including injections, and clean, process, and sterilize medical instruments as needed.
  • Collect and handle laboratory specimens appropriately, and follow 5S and continuous quality improvement methods in the workplace.
Requirements
  • Medical Assistant diploma from an approved course required.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
  • Current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advance Resuscitation Training required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in ambulatory care setting or similar setting highly preferred.
  • Ability to maintain good interpersonal interactions with clients and co-workers as a member of a multi-disciplinary community health team with a diverse multi-cultural population.
  • Ability to multi-task, be flexible, ensure accuracy, and meet changing priorities in a fast-paced, high-workload environment.
  • Basic computer literacy ability to comply with department needs and expectations.
  • Basic organizational skills, attention to detail, time-management skills, and strong motivation to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  • Multi-lingual preferred, English, Spanish, Arabic, and Somali depending on current priorities and locations.
Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base range for this position, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.

$29.20

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience.

We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package.
