Position Overview
We are seeking dedicated Full Time, Night Shift Healthcare Assistants/Medication Aides for our Assisted Living Facility. This role involves providing essential support to residents with their daily activities as well as overseeing medication administration. Occasionally, emergency first aid may be necessary. The Healthcare Assistants/Medication Aides will operate under the guidance of the Resident Services Director and the Assisted Living Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer medications in accordance with established protocols, policies, and state regulations.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities as outlined in their personalized service and care plans.
  • Support residents with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, as well as escorting them to appointments.
  • Document any significant changes in residents' conditions and communicate these to the Resident Services Director.
  • Measure and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
  • Engage in and support recreational activities for residents.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
  • Monitor the living environment to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Report any incidents to the Resident Services Director and/or Assisted Living Director using the designated reporting forms.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, such as making beds and changing linens.
  • Contribute to the development of residents' service and care plans as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to residents' rights, including privacy and the right to file complaints.

Organizational Responsibilities

  • Ensure medications are administered per physician's orders and established policies.
  • Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Attend all required training sessions and in-service programs.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all sensitive information.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service in all interactions, demonstrating professionalism and courtesy.
  • Support and promote the mission and values of the organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must possess current, valid CPR, First Aid, and Fingerprint Clearance Card (or be willing to obtain upon hire).
  • Prior experience in medication administration is preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Demonstrated passion for working with the elderly and addressing their needs.
  • Reliability and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team are essential.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
