Position Overview

As a Combined Trades Supervisor II, you will play a pivotal role within the DEPARTMENT OF NAVY, overseeing various work sites. Your responsibilities will encompass managing operations and ensuring that all necessary resources are available for efficient workflow.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Career transition candidates (CTAP, ICTAP, RPL) - Federal employees classified as "surplus" or "displaced".

Job Responsibilities
  • Plan and organize work assignments to meet both immediate and long-term objectives.
  • Ensure availability of plans, blueprints, materials, and tools, coordinating with supply locations as necessary.
  • Supervise lead shops and coordinate tasks among various trades within the designated zone.
  • Engage in both nuclear and non-nuclear long-range planning and scheduling efforts.
  • Establish and communicate work requirements to subordinate supervisors, setting clear deadlines and priorities.
  • Identify training needs for subordinates and facilitate on-the-job training, while also managing personnel actions and disciplinary measures.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be deemed suitable for federal employment.
  • Participation in the direct deposit pay program is mandatory.
  • New hires will be required to pass an employment verification check.
  • Compliance with Selective Service registration is required for males born after a certain date.
  • This position may involve a bargaining unit.
  • Successful completion of a pre-appointment physical examination may be required.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to starting work.
  • Random drug testing may be conducted.
  • Personal protective equipment may be required during work hours.
  • Work may occur in environments with potentially harmful agents.
  • Travel may be necessary, including to remote locations.
  • Uncommon work hours, including nights and weekends, may be required.
Qualifications

While specific experience duration is not mandated, candidates must demonstrate through their experience and training the requisite knowledge and skills to fulfill the duties of the position.

Your qualifications will be assessed based on your knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies relevant to the job elements.

This position has a screen-out element focused on the ABILITY TO SUPERVISE THROUGH SUBORDINATE SUPERVISORS.

Experience in both paid and unpaid roles, including volunteer work, will be considered valuable for this position.

Salary is determined by geographical location and may change based on annual wage surveys.

This position is part of the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
