Key Responsibilities:
General Legal Duties:
- Deliver legal support and assist in identifying and resolving complex legal matters.
- Contribute as corporate counsel to multifaceted projects.
- Provide legal insights on assigned projects, balancing corporate interests with legal obligations.
- Support mergers and acquisitions due diligence efforts.
- Engage with external legal advisors and regulatory bodies to navigate intricate legal challenges.
Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities:
- Conduct investigations related to ethics and compliance, formulating recommendations and legally supporting resolution strategies.
- Oversee the management and reporting of the global compliance hotline.
- Perform legal research and develop compliance policies that align with both local and international regulations.
- Advise on global training initiatives, enhancing employee understanding of compliance protocols and fostering a culture of integrity.
- Collaborate with various departments, including ESG, HR, Finance, and Procurement, to ensure comprehensive compliance measures.
- Stay informed about legislative changes impacting compliance programs, providing legal analysis and strategic guidance.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to practice law in good standing in at least one state or the District of Columbia.
- Preferred 2-4+ years of experience as in-house counsel or in a legal consulting role, with consideration for relevant law firm or government agency experience.
- Familiarity with FCPA, ethics, policy drafting, investigations, and global compliance programs is advantageous.
- Experience managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
