This role is pivotal in providing legal guidance as part of the corporate legal team, focusing on the company's comprehensive global compliance initiatives while ensuring adherence to legal standards. Key responsibilities encompass managing projects of varying scales, supporting extensive initiatives, developing and implementing policies, conducting training sessions, performing investigations, and evaluating worldwide compliance frameworks in critical areas such as:

This position requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders across various departments, providing legal insights on a diverse range of issues. The role may also involve additional responsibilities related to trade compliance, government contracts, ESG matters, and conflict minerals.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver legal support and assist in identifying and resolving complex legal matters that necessitate thorough analysis and specialized expertise.
  • Contribute as legal counsel to multifaceted projects.
  • Offer legal insights regarding assigned projects and initiatives, balancing organizational interests with fiduciary duties.
  • Assist in M&A due diligence as legal counsel.
  • Engage with external legal advisors and regulatory bodies to manage intricate legal challenges.

Ethics and Compliance Duties:

  • Conduct investigations related to ethics and compliance, providing recommendations and legal support for issue resolution.
  • Oversee the management and reporting of the global compliance hotline as corporate counsel.
  • Perform legal research and develop compliance policies that align with both local and international regulations.
  • Support global training efforts, educating employees on compliance policies to promote a culture of integrity.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including ESG, HR, Finance, and Procurement, to ensure comprehensive compliance coverage.
  • Stay informed on legislative changes affecting compliance programs, providing legal analysis and adapting strategies as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to practice law in good standing in at least one state or the District of Columbia.
  • 2-4+ years of legal experience as in-house counsel or in a consulting role at a major firm, with relevant law firm or government agency experience considered.
  • Familiarity with FCPA, ethics, policy drafting, investigations, and global compliance programs is preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
