15-bed Progressive Care Unit, serving an acute and varied patient population, with highly skilled progressive nurses operating at the peak of their licensure.

Job Responsibilities

Delivers expert nursing care through thorough assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, execution, and evaluation in alignment with established policies and procedures under the guidance of supervisory staff. Aids in sustaining a secure work environment and executes all related duties safely. Maintains clinical and professional proficiency relevant to the age, culture, developmental stages, and unique needs of the patients served.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gathers relevant data concerning the health of the healthcare consumer or the situation.
  • Evaluates the assessment data to identify actual or potential diagnoses, issues, and concerns.
  • Establishes expected outcomes for a personalized plan tailored to the healthcare consumer or the situation.
  • Creates a plan that outlines strategies to achieve expected, measurable outcomes.
  • Implements the designated plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and ensure a safe environment.
  • Assesses progress towards achieving goals and outcomes.
  • Practices in a manner that aligns with principles of cultural diversity and inclusion.
  • Delegates aspects of care to suitable healthcare personnel in accordance with applicable legal or policy guidelines.
  • Encourages shared governance and facility decision-making activities, fostering research to positively influence clinical outcomes and advancement.
  • Acquires knowledge and skills that reflect contemporary nursing practices.

Physical Requirements
This role necessitates walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must be capable of lifting and supporting the weight of 35 pounds when handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Proficiency in English is required for clear communication. Must possess intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch, along with finger dexterity. Critical thinking and the ability to focus are essential. Must be able to respond promptly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Physical Abilities Testing is mandatory. Additional department-specific physical requirements may be outlined for unique responsibilities by the department leader.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required; a BSN is preferred. BLS certification is required as per policy guidelines. A current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of practice is necessary; if claiming a National License Compact (NLC) state as your primary state of residency, you must meet the licensure requirements in your home state; or for Non-National License Compact states, a current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner is required in the state where the RN practices. Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be mandated within the department by the department manager.
