Physical Requirements
This role necessitates walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. The ability to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds is essential for handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Proficiency in English communication is required. Candidates must possess intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch, along with finger dexterity. Critical thinking and the ability to focus are crucial. Quick responsiveness to changes in patient and/or unit conditions is necessary. Physical Abilities Testing may be required. Additional specific physical requirements may be outlined by department leadership.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
A graduate from an accredited School of Nursing is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandated per policy guidelines. A current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of practice is necessary. For those declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as their primary residence, compliance with home state licensure requirements is essential. For non-NLC states, a current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner is required in the state of employment. Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be mandated by departmental management.
