Unit Details: 15 bed Progressive Care Unit, catering to an acute and diverse patient population, with highly skilled progressive nurses operating at the peak of their licensure.

Job Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse delivers professional nursing care through meticulous assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in line with established policies and procedures under the guidance of supervisory staff. The role involves ensuring a safe working environment and executing all job-related tasks safely. The nurse maintains clinical and professional competency appropriate to the age, culture, developmental stages, and unique needs of the patients served.

Physical Requirements
This role requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. The ability to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds is necessary for handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Proficiency in English communication is required. Candidates must possess intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch, along with finger dexterity. Critical thinking skills and the ability to concentrate are essential. Quick responses to changes in patient and/or unit conditions are necessary. Physical Abilities Testing may be required. Additional department-specific physical requirements may be identified by the department leader.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

A graduate from an accredited School of Nursing is required; a BSN is preferred. BLS certification is required per policy guidelines. A current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of practice is mandatory. If declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as the primary state of residency, the candidate must meet the licensure requirements of their home state. For non-National License Compact states, a current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner is required in the state of practice. Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be necessary as determined by the department manager.
