Job Summary
The Registered Nurse delivers expert nursing care through comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, execution, and evaluation in alignment with established policies and procedures under the guidance of supervisory personnel. This role is pivotal in ensuring a secure work environment while executing all related responsibilities safely. The nurse maintains clinical and professional proficiency tailored to the age, culture, developmental stages, and specific needs of the patient population served.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather relevant data regarding the health status of the healthcare consumer or the specific situation.
- Evaluate the collected assessment data to identify actual or potential diagnoses, issues, and challenges.
- Establish anticipated outcomes for a personalized care plan based on the healthcare consumer's needs.
- Formulate a strategy that outlines methods to achieve expected, measurable results.
- Execute the established plan, coordinate care delivery, and implement strategies to enhance health and ensure a safe environment.
- Assess progress towards achieving set goals and outcomes.
- Practice in a manner that respects cultural diversity and promotes inclusivity.
- Delegate care responsibilities to appropriate healthcare team members in accordance with relevant legal or policy guidelines.

Physical Requirements
This role necessitates physical activities including walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. The ability to lift and support weights up to 35 pounds is essential for handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Proficiency in English communication is required. The nurse must possess intact sensory abilities including sight, hearing, smell, and touch, along with finger dexterity. Critical thinking skills and the capacity to focus are crucial, as is the ability to respond promptly to changes in patient or unit conditions. Physical abilities testing may be required, and additional department-specific physical requirements may be established by departmental leadership.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
A graduate from an accredited School of Nursing is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory per policy guidelines. A current RN license or a temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of practice is required. For those declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as their primary residency, compliance with home state licensure requirements is necessary. For non-NLC states, a current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner is required in the state of employment. Additional educational qualifications, training, certifications, or experience may be mandated by departmental management.
