Job Summary

This is a part-time position that supports environmental and social sustainability initiatives at North Seattle College. The successful candidate will represent student voices on the college's sustainability committee, host events, and engage the campus community in sustainability topics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent student voices on the college's sustainability committee, attending meetings, taking notes, and researching sustainability topics.
  • Host events and perform outreach on campus to engage the campus community in sustainability topics, including planning events, managing budgets, and tabling at other college events.
  • Manage the college's sustainability social media page, creating educational graphics, advertising events, and writing short news articles.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Must be an enrolled student at North Seattle College for Fall 2024.
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits per quarter throughout the academic year (excluding Summer Quarter).
  • Must have and maintain at least a 2.5 quarterly/cumulative GPA.
  • Must be able to commit to a minimum of 6 months (2 quarters).
  • Must have an eagerness to work with and serve students of all backgrounds.
Working Conditions

The position typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone, and other office equipment as needed. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. The position encounters frequent interruptions throughout the workday and is regularly required to provide 1:1 support, present to small groups, and work at a computer exercising repetitive hand motion with or without reasonable accommodation.
