Aviation Infrastructure Engineer

Spelman College is looking for a dedicated Aviation Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of airport civil engineering projects.
Job Responsibilities:
As an Aviation Infrastructure Engineer, you will:
- Engage in the geometric design of airfield components such as runways, taxiways, and aprons.
- Oversee the design of both bituminous and concrete pavements.
- Manage stormwater and utility infrastructure design.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders including airports, airlines, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide construction administration and management.
- Handle grant management and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 4 years focused on civil design, particularly in airport settings.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or the ability to obtain it within six months of employment.
- Strong organizational and motivational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
