The Aviation Project Specialist will play a crucial role in the coordination and design of diverse aviation and transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

  • Oversee various engineering tasks in specialized areas related to aviation and transportation systems.
  • Conduct thorough research to ensure compliance with local, state, and FAA regulations.
  • Engage in client meetings as necessary to discuss project developments.
  • Support the Project Manager in managing design solutions effectively.
  • Coordinate daily activities with the Project Manager and team members to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Assist in the creation and enhancement of engineering production documents.
  • Update engineering construction cost estimates as required.
  • Utilize CAD software for design and drafting to adhere to deliverable schedules.
  • Perform computer modeling and analysis using industry-standard software.
  • Engage in client relationship management for key accounts.
  • Participate in construction support activities, including responding to RFIs and conducting site visits.
  • Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and vendor evaluations.
  • Assist in preparing engineering reports, specifications, and final bid packages.
  • Review construction plans and calculations for accuracy and compliance with engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with contractors and government agencies to discuss project specifications and schedules.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 0-5 years of experience in aviation engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training certification is preferred.
  • A strong technical background in aviation and transportation, with knowledge of FAA requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing comprehensive technical reports.
  • The ability to provide practical and results-oriented solutions for engineering projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
