Position Overview

As an integral member of our team, you will be responsible for the orchestration and design of diverse aviation and transportation projects. Your role will encompass a range of professional engineering tasks across specialized domains, focusing on research, planning, design, technology, materials, construction, traffic safety, traffic operations, and the upkeep of highways, bridges, airports, railways, and associated structures and technological applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply your academic and practical skills to design aviation construction initiatives, drainage systems, utility projects, rehabilitation efforts, safety enhancements, and various transportation endeavors.
  • Engage in research and development to ensure project compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Participate in client meetings as necessary.
  • Support the Project Manager in overseeing and managing design solutions effectively.
  • Coordinate daily activities with the Project Manager and team members to ensure seamless execution of client-defined tasks and project timelines.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of engineering production documents.
  • Prepare and update engineering construction cost estimates.
  • Execute CAD design and drafting to adhere to deliverable schedules.
  • Conduct computer modeling and analysis utilizing Civil 3D and AviPlan software.
  • Employ hydraulic design software in project tasks.
  • Engage in client relationship management for designated key clients.
  • Assist in construction support activities, including responding to requests for information (RFIs), reviewing submittals, visiting construction sites, and managing design revisions.
  • Participate in design evaluations, risk assessments, and vendor bid reviews.
  • Contribute to the preparation of engineering reports, specifications, quality assessments, cost estimates, and final bid packages.
  • Review construction plans, design calculations, and cost estimations to ensure accuracy and compliance with engineering standards.
  • Create essential engineering documents, including Typical Section Packages, Pavement Design Reports, and Variation/Exception Reports.
  • Collaborate with contractors, utility providers, and government entities to discuss plans, specifications, and work schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation or modification of reports, plans, and designs for various projects.
Requirements

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 0-5 years of experience in aviation engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training designation is preferred.
  • Strong technical background in aviation/transportation and site/civil engineering, with knowledge of FAA standards.
  • Proven ability to apply civil engineering principles to both academic and practical projects.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce comprehensive technical reports and regulatory documents.
  • Capacity to deliver practical and results-oriented technical solutions for various projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
