Position Overview

HDR is seeking a Project Manager to join our Aviation program. This role involves overseeing marketing, planning, directing, and monitoring complex airport projects, typically exceeding $2 million. Key responsibilities include:
  • Acting as the primary liaison for airport projects.
  • Managing client relationships and being a visible presence in the industry.
  • Participating as a technical leader in industry associations.
  • Developing proposals and engaging in client presentations.
  • Leading project teams on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Establishing and nurturing client relations.
  • Conducting design development sessions with various stakeholders.
  • Overseeing project staffing and workload management.
  • Implementing quality assurance and control procedures.
  • Monitoring project changes and contract modifications.
  • Supervising and mentoring project staff.
  • Providing expertise during construction phases.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering is advantageous.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in aviation-related engineering, including 2 years in project management.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations and aviation design standards.
  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in managing large aviation projects.
  • Knowledge of asphalt and concrete pavements.
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D is a plus.
  • Strong business development and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities.
