Position Overview
HDR is seeking a Project Manager to join our Aviation program. This role involves overseeing marketing, planning, directing, and monitoring complex airport projects, typically exceeding $2 million. Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the primary liaison for airport projects.
- Managing client relationships and being a visible presence in the industry.
- Participating as a technical leader in industry associations.
- Developing proposals and engaging in client presentations.
- Leading project teams on multiple concurrent projects.
- Establishing and nurturing client relations.
- Conducting design development sessions with various stakeholders.
- Overseeing project staffing and workload management.
- Implementing quality assurance and control procedures.
- Monitoring project changes and contract modifications.
- Supervising and mentoring project staff.
- Providing expertise during construction phases.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering is advantageous.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification is required.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in aviation-related engineering, including 2 years in project management.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations and aviation design standards.
- Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in managing large aviation projects.
- Knowledge of asphalt and concrete pavements.
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D is a plus.
- Strong business development and strategic planning skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities.
