Position Overview

The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to lead our Aviation initiatives. This role will focus on overseeing various airport-related projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the main liaison for aviation projects, primarily focusing on multi-disciplinary airport developments.
  • Act as the Client Liaison for key stakeholders, maintaining visibility and engagement within the aviation sector.
  • Participate actively in industry associations, showcasing leadership and technical expertise.
  • Develop and assess project proposals, contributing to interviews and client presentations.
  • Lead project teams, coordinating multiple concurrent projects effectively.
  • Establish and nurture client relationships, participating in marketing and contractual discussions.
  • Conduct design sessions and contract document workshops with clients and relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversee project staffing and workload management to ensure timely completion within budget constraints.
  • Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures, providing training for team members as necessary.
  • Monitor project progress, addressing client-initiated changes and assessing their impact on contracts.
  • Supervise and mentor project staff, fostering professional development.
  • Manage construction services on active projects, reviewing submissions and requests for information.
  • Act as a subject matter expert during construction phases, resolving unforeseen issues as they arise.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is essential.
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is advantageous.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in aviation-related engineering, including at least 2 years in project management.
  • Familiarity with FAA guidelines and aviation design standards is necessary.
  • Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams and large aviation projects.
  • Knowledge of asphalt and concrete pavements is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in MS Office is required; experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D is a plus.
  • Demonstrated skills in business development and strategic planning.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities are essential.
  • A commitment to fostering a collaborative and employee-owned culture is crucial.
