Position: Director, People Analytics
Location: San Mateo, CA (preferred)

The People Analytics (PA) team plays a vital role in collaborating with Human Resources and business units to extract data-driven insights that address organizational challenges throughout the employee lifecycle. Our mission is to implement a comprehensive and client-focused strategy within Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) that highlights critical issues or opportunities for attracting, hiring, retaining, and developing talent globally. We aim to leverage advanced data analytics and visualization techniques to provide actionable insights that facilitate informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the PA strategy and roadmap, aligning with organizational objectives and incorporating both short- and long-term goals.
  • Promote a culture of 'data-informed decision-making' across the organization, supporting stakeholders with varying levels of data analytics proficiency.
  • Assist the People Org Leadership Team by providing innovative insights that evaluate business planning risks and rewards, translating data findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Regularly update the People Team and SIE leadership on key metrics and insights related to workforce dynamics.
  • Offer guidance and expertise to various People Team centers of excellence, ensuring the selection of appropriate metrics and interpretation of data.
  • Collaborate with People Business Partners to drive organizational change and enhance business outcomes through data-driven insights.
  • Utilize advanced analytics techniques, including statistical modeling and machine learning, to derive meaningful insights from People data.
  • Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of PA dashboards, ensuring data is presented in a clear and actionable format.
  • Lead the evolution of the PA technology stack to enhance scalability, efficiency, and automation.
  • Ensure the quality and security of key People datasets, integrating data from multiple sources as necessary.
  • Establish best practices for data governance and management, ensuring compliance with data protection policies.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing PA team, ensuring impactful project execution and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Engage with external professional organizations to stay informed about emerging trends in analytics.
  • Perform additional duties as required in a professional manner.

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in People Analytics, Consulting, or Business Analytics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • BA/BS degree in a relevant field such as Business, Mathematics, or Data Analytics.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and key performance metrics.
  • Experience in managing data pipelines and ensuring data quality.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization.
  • Ability to communicate complex analytical findings clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proven track record of building relationships with stakeholders and aligning analytics initiatives with business needs.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Workday, Tableau, and SQL.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and compliance with ethical standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in developing a People Analytics program.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based analytics software and emerging technologies.
