Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Head of Data Analytics to join our team in San Francisco. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of our analytics strategy, implementing best practices, and driving consistency and standardization of data usage and analytics practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analytics Strategy Execution: Oversee the execution of our analytics strategy, guiding the team on the usage of tools, methodologies, and ensuring they are tracking towards goals and project deadlines.
  • Best Practices Implementation: Implement best practices in support of data & analytics projects to drive consistency and standardization of data usage and analytics practices.
  • Predictive Modeling and Data Pipelines: Oversee the construction of predictive models, data pipelines, and analytics workflows in support of operational and analytics objectives.
  • Business Needs Translation: Work with partners to translate business needs into technical plans, identify available data, communicate findings and results, and develop implementation tactics.
  • Data Source Identification: Identify internal and external data sources, construct analytical databases, and develop data pipelines that enhance business performance.
  • Data Transformation and Reporting: Discuss data transformation, integration, and reporting requirements with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, or Statistics preferred.
  • A minimum of 5+ years hands-on experience acting as a Data Engineer, BI Analyst, or Data Scientist.
  • Prior leadership and/or management experience preferred.
  • Proficient in using operations research tools and software, such as Python.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with expertise in data analysis, modeling, and simulation.
  • In-depth understanding of data profiling, statistical analysis, and data modeling concepts.
  • Adept in extracting, loading, and leveraging data in data warehouse, transactional databases, object stores, and API-based environments.
  • Data Architecture and Infrastructure: Good understanding of data architecture principles and related infrastructure requirements, covering on-prem and Cloud platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving, programming, and project management skills.
  • Excellent ability to interpret or correlate an extensive variety of information and decompose complex analytical and technical problems and translate them into simple business solutions to be presented to key stakeholders.
  • Ability to think conceptually, handle ambiguity, solve complex problems, and make thoughtful recommendations.
  • Excellent communications skills and abilities working with all corporate levels and external contacts.

This role will be onsite 5 days a week in our San Francisco office.
