Position Overview
The Director of People Data Science will spearhead and define the data science initiatives within the Employee Experience division. Reporting to the Head of People Analytics, this role will oversee a team of analysts, data scientists, and data engineers, driving insights and recommendations that guide strategic decisions related to our workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide and support a team of data scientists and analysts, cultivating a culture of creativity and inclusivity.
  • Formulate a comprehensive data science strategy and roadmap for People Analytics that aligns with the broader organizational goals.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancement in research and analytics execution within the People Analytics team and the Employee Experience ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with HR leaders and business partners to understand their requirements and link insights to organizational objectives.
  • Adopt a product-focused, iterative methodology for developing, testing, and automating insights related to Adobe's workforce.
  • Provide guidance on leveraging data science across the Employee Experience division, promoting the adoption of data science methodologies among analysts.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to the ethical considerations of handling employee data, ensuring compliance with privacy and legal standards.
  • Lead the team responsible for delivering:
  • People Data & Metrics: Establishing essential data elements, the logic behind key workforce metrics, and our strategy for capturing and interpreting new data signals.
  • Predictive Modeling: Creating predictive models to anticipate outcomes and inform workforce-related decisions.
  • Strategic Insights: Conducting in-depth analytical explorations on complex datasets and presenting findings to non-analytical stakeholders in a manner that drives impactful decision-making.
  • Automation: Designing algorithms to automatically extract insights from diverse data sources and streamlining frequent analyses (e.g., using R or Python scripts).
  • Data Architecture & Governance: Ensuring a robust framework for managing, processing, and analyzing data securely and efficiently, in collaboration with other technical teams across Adobe.

Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of experience in applied data science, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership capacity within People Analytics.
  • Expertise in data querying, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and hypothesis testing using tools such as SQL, Python, and R.
  • Experience handling people-related data (e.g., survey data, HRIS data, human behavior data) in a practical context.
  • Strong understanding of the data infrastructure necessary for analyzing employee data.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex data insights to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across various functions and levels within an organization.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
