Position Overview
We are in search of a meticulous and experienced professional to fill the role of Internal Audit Lead. In this capacity, you will be instrumental in assessing and enhancing our internal control frameworks, risk management strategies, and adherence to relevant regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities
As the Internal Audit Lead, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading audit engagements, evaluating risks, identifying inefficiencies, and offering insightful recommendations to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Managing internal audit projects, including planning, executing, and reporting on assigned audits, sometimes concurrently.
  • Conducting risk assessments and analyzing control frameworks across various business units.
  • Developing detailed audit programs to assess the adequacy and efficiency of internal controls.
  • Performing interviews, collecting supporting documentation, conducting data analysis, and documenting findings during audit fieldwork.
  • Identifying control weaknesses or process inefficiencies that could lead to risks or non-compliance.
  • Preparing clear and well-supported workpapers that document audit findings.
  • Assisting in the review of audit workpapers to ensure clarity, completeness, and organization.
  • Providing actionable recommendations for enhancing control effectiveness, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Collaborating with management to formulate action plans for addressing identified issues.
  • Ensuring timely and high-quality draft audit reports.
  • Following up on the implementation of management action plans to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
  • Building strong relationships with Cencora's management and staff within your areas of responsibility.
  • Offering ongoing feedback on work completion and performance to team members.
  • Staying informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, emerging risks, and best practices in internal auditing.
  • Assisting in the creation of policies, procedures, guidelines, and training materials related to internal audit functions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Your background should include:

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant audit experience, preferably in internal audit or public accounting, with experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or biotech sectors being advantageous.
  • An active professional certification in at least one area (e.g., CIA, CPA, CISA, CMA) is preferred.
  • Flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks, with the ability to allocate work effectively among team members.
  • Strong knowledge of risks, processes, and controls across financial, operational, and compliance domains.
  • Well-developed analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Innovative thinking and adaptability to changing environments.
  • Strong project management and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with leading-edge audit and risk assessment methodologies, with experience in data analytics tools being a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work closely with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
